I went to this restaurant last week because of a billboard on the Indiana Toll Road advertising 2 filet-of-fish sandwiches for $5. When I went through the drive-up I was told that the special was no longer in effect and was told 2 of those would be $8.60. I told the sales person and the manager that I had gotten off the Toll Road because the billboard specifically advertised the McDonald's off exit 96 which was this one. The sales person said the special was no longer in effect. The manager told me that the billboard is put up by corporate and since this McDonald's is privately owned, it didn't have to comply with corporate advertising. There was nothing on the billboard indicating that the offer expired before the billboard would be changed. And there was nothing that said the billboard was put up by corporate and even though it directed me to this McDonald's, that it didn't have to comply with the billboard since it was privately owned. Personally, the filet-of fish is small and tasteless and definitely not worth $4.30 a sandwich, but two for $5 I was willing to pay to satisfy hunger. As the employees at this McDonald's were totally unwilling to honor the toll road billboard I drove across the street and got a sandwich at Subway. I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well.
